Welcome to Heartsease Log Cabin |
Heartsease is a comfortably appointed, cozy family cabin located in the quiet Beachwood neighborhood with access to a private beach trail. From wine glasses to sippy cups, from Kitchen Aid to microwave, from bath toys to extra blankets and pillows, Heartsease has what you need to get away with your whole family. It is 8 minutes from the Clinton ferry and 4 minutes to downtown Langley. There are many parks, hiking trails, shops, restaurants and lots of opportunities for family adventures in South Whidbey Island.
Master Bedroom with attached bath. Extended captain’s style queen bed, schemed especially for a cabin in the woods!
Master Bath is newly remodeled, with really only the walls and toilet surviving the DIY storm.
Guest Bedroom. The bright and comfortable guest room has a queen size Captain’s bed with built-in drawers, and decorated with an old fashioned double wedding ring quilt.
Kitchen. The most used room has most of the usual appliances—refrigerator, microwave, full-size range/oven, Kitchen Aid. Plenty of dishes, especially as you have to hand wash after every meal! It’s not a gourmet kitchen, but you’ll be able to cook up just about whatever you want. The table can seat as few as four and can be extended to twice the size. There are eight chairs (two folding chairs in the guest room closet), as well as the kids’ picnic table. Use the outside grill for steaks or burgers, or really please the kids with hotdogs and s'mores at the fire pit!
(See the little door behind the table—that’s where the hobbit hot water tank sits.)
Living room. This comfortable great room has a cozy gas fireplace, leather chairs and sofa, writing/art desk, large flat-screen TV with Xbox 360 and Kinnect. Enjoy the collection of books, videos, and games for all ages.
Laundry room, 1/2 bath. Far more useful than a dishwasher is the washer/dryer.
Landing. When we remodeled the upstairs, we expanded the landing to make it into a small playroom. Come play with Duplos, the train table, and—naturally—Lincoln logs, and give parents obstacles to step around for hours!
Deck and Outdoor Living: The new TREX-like deck is spacious and beautiful, as well as the coolest place to be on hot summer days. The propane grill, log outdoor furniture, and quiet neighborhood makes lazy days at the cabin very tempting, even with all the great beaches nearby.
Our pergola-garden is my favorite spot, and not just for all our blood and sweat (and money) we put into it. Bench swing, disk swing, foot bridges, Spice Island all make this a beautiful and relaxing spot at almost all times of the year.
