Groceries and Shopping

Nearby Groceries

Red Apple at Kens Korner (first traffic light up from the ferry).  Close, good enough.

Payless in Freeland (about 15 min. from cabin) - probably the overall nicest store on the south end, with prices to match.

The Goose at Bayview Corner – go down the main highway, past Ken’s Korner.  Island favorite.  My first choice if distance isn't a problem. About 10 minutes from cabin. Often has The Best smoked meat for sale in tent in front of store.

Clinton Food Mart - just up the hill from the ferry. 4777 Commercial St Ste C, Good store, has videos, 2nd closest to cabin.  More gluten-free items than anywhere else on South Whidbey.  It’s just a minute from the ferry, and a great place to stop before you go to the cabin.  Small, but where I do most of my “I forgot the milk” shopping.

StarStore in Langley - higher-end groceries, specialty products, good wine selection. Closest to cabin, and a bit of landmark. Way more than groceries, it's a destination store. 4-5 minutes from cabin.

Fun Shopping, Window and Otherwise

This is what downtown Langley is made for!  Wander 1st and 2nd, and make sure you wander down all the alleys and enjoy the gardens and artwork of the Charming Village by the Sea!

Freeland has some fun shopping, too.  Start with Linds, by Payless Foods and then wander (in car, possibly) down the main streets.

Ken's Corner, in Clinton, is both practical and fun.  We like going to the Buy Whidbey shop just up the hill from the ferry, as well.

If you want to wander a little further north, Greenbank is a lovely place to walk with a little bit of shops, and Coupeville is made for shop browsing.
